Their friendship carries a quiet weight. On Peter's world, a girl named Gwen Stacy was someone he loved and lost, so meeting a living, joking, drum-playing Gwen from another universe means a great deal to him. He never puts that on her shoulders; he just looks out for her, and she gives him someone new to trust.
In the field they fight like they have known each other for years, swinging in sync and covering each other's blind spots. Whenever the multiverse is in danger and the Spiders assemble, Gwen and Peter end up side by side, trading wisecracks while they save the day.
Gwen and Peter first crossed paths during the Spider-Verse event (2014-2015). The Inheritors, a family of predators whose most relentless hunter is Morlun, began hunting spider-powered heroes across every universe. To survive, the Spiders banded together into an army, and the 616 Peter Parker helped lead the resistance. Gwen was recruited into that gathering, and fighting side by side against a shared enemy is how the two Spiders came to know and trust each other.
Gwen remains a fan-favorite headliner. After the Spider-Gwen and Ghost-Spider ongoing series, she continued to appear across Spider-family events and her own miniseries, including Spider-Gwen: Gwenverse (2022) and Spider-Gwen: The Ghost-Spider (2024). She still splits her time between Earth-65 and Earth-616, staying part of the wider Spider-family and crossing paths with Peter whenever the multiverse needs its Spiders.
Gwen Stacy lives on Earth-65, a world much like Peter Parker's but not quite the same. She was bitten by a radioactive spider and became her city's masked hero. On her world it was her friend Peter who was lost, and that grief pushed Gwen to use her powers to protect others, all while keeping the secret from her father, Police Captain George Stacy.
She has the classic spider gift set: she sticks to walls, moves with incredible speed and agility, and senses danger before it strikes. She builds her own web-shooters and, when she is not crime-fighting, plays drums in the band The Mary Janes. Fans and Marvel came to call her Spider-Gwen, and she later took the name Ghost-Spider.
