Their first proper team-up came in Marvel Team-Up #144 (1984), and they later stood shoulder to shoulder during the sprawling 'Round Robin' street-hero crossover in Amazing Spider-Man #353-358 (1991), alongside younger heroes like Nova, Night Thrasher and Darkhawk. Peter tends to keep one eye on Marc, because Moon Knight plays rougher than a friendly neighborhood hero likes.
In modern stories the two turn up together whenever New York is under siege, as in Devil's Reign (2022) when the city's heroes banded together against the Kingpin. Spider-Man trusts Moon Knight's courage and skill, even if he never quite understands what is going on behind that blank white mask.
Both work the same New York nights, so Spider-Man and Moon Knight crossed paths as fellow rooftop vigilantes in the early 1980s. Their first full team-up came in Marvel Team-Up #144 (1984), when the wisecracking web-slinger and the silent man in white had to set aside their very different styles to take down a shared threat.
In recent comics Moon Knight and Spider-Man remain respectful allies rather than close partners, teaming up mainly when a citywide crisis like Devil's Reign (2022) forces New York's heroes together. Marc Spector's own story has moved through big changes in the modern Moon Knight series, but toward Spider-Man he stays what he has always been: a fierce, dependable, slightly unnerving ally Peter is glad to have on his side.
Marc Spector was a boxer, a U.S. Marine and a mercenary before a job in Egypt went wrong and he was left for dead near a statue of Khonshu, the Egyptian moon god. Revived and pledged as Khonshu's earthly agent, he took up the white cloak and hood of the Moon Knight to protect those who travel by night.
Moon Knight has no flashy super-powers. He relies on peak human conditioning, expert martial arts, detective smarts and an arsenal of moon-shaped throwing darts, a truncheon and a bladed staff, plus gadgets and a fortune he banked under the identity Steven Grant. He is also famous for living with several distinct identities, and stories have long explored his mental health with unusual care for a super hero.
