The Team-Up

Spider-Man and Iron Fist are two of New York's most reliable neighborhood heroes, so it is no surprise they keep bumping into each other on the same rooftops. Peter relies on speed, science, and quick jokes; Danny brings focus, martial-arts discipline, and a fist that can glow like iron. Together they cover each other's blind spots.
๐Ÿ—จ๏ธ On patrol together
Spider-ManOkay, you meditate before a fight? I usually just make a joke and hope for the best.
Iron FistFocus your energy, Peter. Breathe. Then hit the target.
Spider-ManMy target's usually the guy laughing at my costume.
Iron FistThen web him up and leave the glowing fist to me.
KRA-THOOM!
One throws the webs, the other throws the punch that ends the fight.

Their friendship really deepened as teammates on the New Avengers, where they trained, argued, and saved the city side by side for years. Danny helped bankroll the team and gave Peter steady, grounded advice, while Peter helped Danny loosen up. It is a classic pairing of the calm master and the chatty everyman.

When they fight together, it looks almost choreographed: Spider-Man swings and web-zips enemies into place, and Iron Fist delivers the finishing strike. They trust each other completely, which is why Danny is one of the few heroes who has learned Peter's secret identity and kept it safe.

The relationship

How They Met & Where It Stands

How they met

Spider-Man and Iron Fist first met in Marvel Team-Up #31 (1975), soon after Danny Rand arrived in New York from the hidden city of K'un-Lun. Both heroes found themselves chasing the same strange foe, the villain Drom, and ended up joining forces. It was the start of a partnership that would carry on for decades.

Where it stands today

Danny Rand and Peter Parker remain firm allies among New York's hero community, a bond forged over their long run together on the New Avengers. Danny has passed through several chapters in recent years, including periods where the Iron Fist mantle was carried by others, but he continues to be one of the heroes Spider-Man trusts most when the city is in danger.

The origin

Who Is Iron Fist?

Danny Rand was a boy from a wealthy family who was orphaned during an expedition to find the hidden mystical city of K'un-Lun. Taken in by its masters, he trained for years in martial arts under Lei Kung the Thunderer, becoming one of the greatest fighters the city had ever produced.

To earn the power of the Iron Fist, Danny defeated the dragon Shou-Lao and plunged his hands into its molten heart. From then on he could gather his inner energy, called chi, and focus it into a single glowing punch of tremendous force. Back in New York he became a costumed hero and, alongside Luke Cage, one of the famous Heroes for Hire.
